Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin has been an actress in Canada as well as New Zealand for over a decade. Born in Winnipeg and born in Wellington Paquin made her acting debut in the role of Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at age 11 making her the second-youngest winner in Oscar history. Anna Paquin spelled out Anna Helene Paquin was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada on the 24th of July, 1982. She is a Canadian-born actress from New Zealand. In 1993, she received the Academy Award at age 11 as the curious and chatty child that was Holly Hunter who played the main character. In response to an audition Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter a Scottish piano player. Flora McGrath is the daughter of a muted Scottish musician who came from Scotland to New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. In her teens, Paquin moved to America. Paquin was played as the title child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in 1996. In addition, she played the lead role in Fly Away Home, a movie from that same year. Paquin was Frankie Addams in a 1997 television movie adaptation of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding as well as a small role as Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She played teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000) as well as A Walk on the Moon (2000). She portrayed the role of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
